Movies Threw The Years: Vampires

From the creepy crawly Nosferatu to the sparkly charming Edward Cullen, vampires have been haunting our screens for more then a century. So because vampires have become a household name when it comes to movies, i think they should have there time to shine. (no pun intended).

The first vampire to really make a big impact in the movies was Nosferatu (1922)(Silent Picture) Estate agent Knock dispatches his associate, Hutter, to Count Orlok's castle in Transylvania as the Count wants to purchase a isolated house in Wisbourg. Hutter manages to sell Count Orlok the house but he also begins to notice a number of peculiarities about him...and they all point to one thing: vampire. This movie is a must see for all those vampire lovers out there!

Probably the most famous name in the history of vampires, the one, the only, DRACULA!!!!
A movie classic if i ever did see one. Starring the enchanting Bela Lugosi this was the first movie made based on the classic story by Bram Stoker. Originally released in 1931 this movie does get a little campy at times but back in the day it was enough to scare people out of there pants.

This movie is my all time favorite when it comes to vampires:
Interview with the Vampire (1994)
Starring one of the most amazing actors of our time (Brad Pitt), this movie revolves around the vampire Louis who tells a young reporter the story of his life, his death, and his "birth into darkness". If you haven't seen this cinematic masterpiece you have yet to earn the title of movie buff!

Okay. even though this goes against all codes i have as a movie goer, it was a huge fad and changed the view on vampires thus far. So for the sake of your movie education, im gonna bite the bullet:
The Twilight Saga (2008)
Im sure you all know the story but ill supply a synopsis anyway. The young, insecure Bella Swan moves to the small town of Forks and is instantly attracted to the beautiful, mysterious Edward Cullen. So...it may not be my "favorite" vampire flick but its movie history none the less.

Hope you all enjoyed a little bit of vampire history! see you all next time :D
